The host of one of the most-watched reality TV shows, “Love Island,” gave us a behind-the-scenes look into filming, the entertainment industry and — just for us — the products she loves.
Arielle Vandenberg, 35, is well-versed in the entertainment business, from the hit tropics-based reality TV show to acting and founding the beauty brand Rel Beauty.
Amid all the “Love Island” contestants Vandenberg has the pleasure of working with, she has her fair share of favorite beauty products (and others, too) that she shared below.
“Two very unique aspects of ‘Love Island’ are the friendships that are made during each season and the comedy,” Vandenberg, with 1.4M Instagram followers, told the Post. “Obviously, everyone’s there to find love so there’s no lack of drama — but the friendships that are made are so special. And on top of it, the show is laugh-out-loud funny.”
Plus, there’s no surprise the LA-based entertainment professional adores everything about the industry that brings her joy, especially the connections formed.
“I’ve always had a passion for entertaining people, whether that be acting, hosting, making sketch comedy on Instagram or just singing in my shower for my fiancé to hear,” she adds. “Comedic acting truly is my number one passion. Jim Carrey, Will Smith, and Tina Fey are just a few of my favorites growing up that really taught me to love comedy.”
And, on top of her entertainment career, Vandenberg aims to make beauty accessible for not only “Love Island” viewers but for everyone to shop. Rel Beauty has “more products in the pipeline,” according to Vandenberg.
“I wanted to create this line that offers fuss-free beauty essential — all with clean and organic ingredients,” she shares. “I love tinted lip balm but I couldn’t find one that checked all the boxes as I wanted amazing ingredients, with great texture and beautiful shades.” So, she created it herself.
With her passion for not only producing products but also shopping for them (more on that below), Vandenberg hopes to promote positivity in every pursuit, both personally and professionally.
“I think it’s really important to focus on keeping a positive mindset,” she continued. “We’re in very difficult, weird times that are hard to navigate but keeping positivity and kindness in our hearts is of the utmost importance. Don’t take life too seriously! Have fun and live your best life!”
Ahead, find all the products this “Love Island” host and entrepreneur loves and recommends.
This award-winning makeup remover is gentle on sensitive skin, has a lightweight formula and requires no rinsing. Not to mention, if you want a short list of ingredients, this is the take-the-day-off product for you.
We love a good cat eye, and so does Vandenberg. These white shades are effortlessly chic, especially when en route to the mall, a BFF brunch or an island (the latter one of Vandenberg’s favorites, of course).
After trying Benefit Cosmetics’ Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara, we can attest Vandenberg’s favorite mascara is one of ours, too. With a satin finish, it’s incredible for giving your lashes a natural curl. Plus, it offers a sexy glam look that’s long-lasting.
Opt for a sustainable brand with Papaya. Its unique line of trendy reusable towels is one we want to add to our carts, too.
According to Vandenberg, you have to go for the Chuck ’70s because they’re “real vintage” and “more comfortable than the new ones.” For less than $100, it’s a score.
For a nourishing base coat, Chanel’s La Base Protective and Smoothing product is like heaven for your nails and a product Vandenberg adores. Infused with vitamin E and argan oil, the formula will help strengthen your nails and protect them from damage, too.
With a name like Le Creuset, we’re not surprised the brand’s Enameled Cast Iron Rice Pot is one of Vandenberg’s favorites. They’re selling quickly, too, so pick up one up ASAP (and keep it as a stovetop display piece, most notably).
Saks Fifth Avenue
A splurge, for sure, but Furtuna Skin’s Cuore Visione Di Luce Eye Revitalizing Cream is an all-in-one corrective cream that’s infused with botanicals to help lift, plump, brighten and depuff the skin. Not to mention, the packaging is luxe.
We love Smeg for rewinding back to the ’50s with some of the chicest appliances we’ve ever seen. Vandenberg adores the brand’s ’50s Retro Electric Kettle that boasts an automatic shut-off feature.
Saks Fifth Avenue
Meet the anti-aging moisturizer Vandenberg swears by. The Angela Caglia Souffle Moisturizer includes goat milk (which has wonderful anti-inflammatory and brightening properties, BTW), is packed with fatty acids and is a lightweight whipped cream — much like its name.
To boost the air quality in your space, consider Dyson’s Pure Cool TP01 Purifier Fan. Not only is it a model Vandenberg adores but it’s also one of the best air purifiers we rounded up this year.
Vandenberg also listed Necessaire’s The Body Lotion with Niacinamide as one of her favorite products. We consulted dermatologists who hand-picked this formula as one of the best body lotions this year, too.
If you’re opting for more sustainable buys this year, look no further than Frank Green’s Ceramic Reusable Bottle. The quality sip-on-the-go item comes in a palette of colors and Vandenberg swears by them.
We love a good hair potion these days (and anything hair-related; read the best shampoos we tested this year). Vandenberg’s favorite In Common Magic Myst Universal Hair Elixir is great to use daily to combat frizz, help repair deep-rooted damage, prevent split ends and much more.
Spin it back to the classic decades — but not too much. Vandenberg likes Audio-Technica’s Bluetooth Stereo Turntable because it’s reminiscent of earlier generations but has a modern design that allows you to listen to your favorite albums with exceptional quality.
Raise your hand if you’re always on the lookout for that signature fragrance (our hands are raised). Byredo’s Bal d’Afrique Eau de Parfum is one Vandenberg put on our radar, with scent notes of bergamot, lemon and African marigold.
For an SPF-infused tinted moisturizer, you can’t beat bareMinerals, according to Vandenberg. After trying it for ourselves, it’s perfect if lightweight coverage is what you’re after.
